This is a pair of hand made formal high quality rice straw sandals called setta. These are the official shoes to wear with traditional Japanese clothing and before a tea ceremony. the straw is intricately woven together as can be seen in pictures 6 and 7.They measure 8 1/2" long by 3 1/4" wide. It's about 7" from the toe strap to the back of the heel.
